Vinu Jyothi - President of NC ACDIS
​Vinu Jyothi, MBBS, MPH, CCDS is currently the director of physician clinical review at CorroHealth. Vinu has been with CorroHealth for the last 3 years, from physician reviewer to QA manager. Before CorroHealth, she worked as a CDI specialist for multiple hospital facilities including St. Mary’s Hospital NJ and Naples Community Hospital FL, and as a DRG auditor for MedReview and Cotiviti. Vinu obtained her medical degree from Madras Medical College, India, pursued her master’s in public health at UT Houston and is CCDS certified. She lives in Cary NC with her family and her current hobbies are traveling and learning a traditional Indian dance form.
Marina Prannik - Secretary of NC ACDIS
Marina Prannik, MBA, BSN, RN, CCDS has worked in hospitals in multiple capacities since graduating from high school. She started out as a CNA I then transitioned to CNA II and worked in the float pool which allowed her to go to various units of the hospital and learn about different patient populations. She then transitioned to an RN position and as a nurse, she primarily took care of Med-Surg and Critical Care patients. After leaving the bedside, Marina transitioned into a CDI role and unlocked a different side of nursing for herself. After IP CDI, she had a chance to transition to a Clinical Documentation Analyst (CDA) position at Duke University Healthcare System, which focused on chart review utilizing various risk models to impact quality scores in the mortality and hospice patient population. Currently Marina is working as a Revenue Manager on the Hospital Coding team at Duke University Healthcare System. In this role, she leads a team of CDA nurses in quality chart review of mortality and hospice patient population, as well as help with other projects that require a clinical point of view and collaboration with various departments within the revenue cycle. Marina is very close with her family, but also enjoys traveling and exploring new places, learning about new cultures, and meeting new people and hearing their stories about the adventures that they have had in their lives.
Rosetta Obeng - Teasurer of NC ACDIS
Rosetta Obeng RN, BSN, CCDS has a diverse background which includes medical/surgical and pediatric inpatient nursing. She has been a case manager in an ambulatory care setting at an HMO. In addition, she has experience in auditing Medicare part A, B, and DME claims for medical necessity. She has been in the clinical documentation field for over 12 years. She appreciates the investigative approach of CDI and the opportunity to learn something new each day. Rosetta looks forward to learning more about NC ACDIS, meeting new CDI professionals, as well as furthering her professional development through networking with other NC ACDIS members. She enjoys the quiet, calm and beautiful views of North Carolina as well as the opportunity to be at an academic health center where there is always something new on the horizon.
Joan Oliver- Social Media Coordinator of NC ACDIS
Joan Oliver, MHA, BSN, RN, ACM, CCDS, is a CDI specialist covering the Cardiothoracic and Cardiology teams at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC. Before joining the CDI team, Joan worked in case management and assisted in embedding case management in the ED at Duke University. She has also worked as a legal nurse consultant, an ICU nurse, and home care nurse. Joan completed her MHA and in addition to her CCDS certification, holds an ACM certification and a CTHC from Duke Divinity. Joan served on the ACDIS Regulatory Committee in 2018-2020 and during her years as a case manager, she assisted on the planning committee of the NC chapter of ACMA.
